
KUCHING: A local man was injured especially his ear in an assault involving a knuckle duster at midnight on April 5.
According to a statement issued by Bau District Police Chief DSP Dr Daram Ruer, he said the incident took place shortly after midnight on 5 April 2025.
Police from the Bau District Police Headquarters (IPD Bau) received a report stating that a man had been injured by two suspects using a knuckle duster.
Following investigations, police arrested an 18-year-old local man at around 4.05 pm on 6 April 2025.
“Initial investigations revealed that the incident stemmed from a motorcycle collision between the victim and the suspect. The suspect allegedly demanded compensation for damages to the front cover of his motorcycle,” said DSP Dr Daram.
The suspect, who has no prior criminal record, is being investigated under Section 324 of the Penal Code for voluntarily causing hurt using a weapon.
DSP Dr Daram urged members of the public who have any information related to the case to come forward to the nearest police station or contact 082-763311 to assist with the investigation.
