KUCHING: State Assemblyman for Kota Sentosa, Wilfred Yap, conducted on-site inspections of two recreational parks along Jalan Stampin Tengah as part of his continued oversight of infrastructure works under the Rural Transformation Programme (RTP).
The parks, located at Lorong 5E and Lorong 12, are currently undergoing upgrading works under the projects Menaiktaraf Taman Rekreasi Lorong Stampin Tengah 5E (RM50,000) and Menaiktaraf Kemudahan Di Taman Rekreasi Lorong Stampin Tengah 12 (RM45,000).
He was accompanied by officers from Majlis Bandaraya Kuching Selatan (MBKS).
During the visits, Yap reviewed the progress and quality of the works, highlighting several areas needing improvement.
He instructed contractors to rectify the shortcomings before any payments are released.
Yap stressed that all public infrastructure projects must be held to high standards as they impact residents’ everyday lives.
“Every ringgit spent must result in real, visible benefits for the people. As your elected representative, I will continue to be on the ground to ensure RTP projects are implemented responsibly and effectively. The wellbeing of Kota Sentosa residents remains my top priority,” he said.
