KUCHING: Bau police arrested two local men on July 25 for suspected criminal trespass after they were caught fishing in a temple pond located along Jalan Bau-Serikin.
Bau District Police Chief DSP Dr Daram Ruer said the two suspects, aged 18 and 41, were detained around 5.20 pm by a police team from Bau District Police Headquarters (IPD Bau), following a report lodged on July 21.
“Both individuals were brought to IPD Bau for investigation under Section 447 of the Penal Code for criminal trespass. A background check revealed that one of the suspects had a prior drug-related offence,” he said in a statement today.
Dr Daram also urged members of the public who have information about similar incidents to contact the Bau District Police Headquarters at 082-763311.
