KUCHING: The initial trial of SBST buses under the Bas.My branding has received an overwhelmingly positive response from the public, according to the Chairman of the Commercial Vehicle Licensing Board (LPKP), Michael Kong.
He said that many have expressed appreciation for the new, modern, and comfortable buses and there is growing acceptance of public transportation as a convenient travel option.
At the same time, LPKP acknowledges that commuters are eager for more details on routes and schedules. The first route, Q10, runs from the Open Air Market to the Serian Bus Terminal and back, covering 48 stops. Operating hours for this route are as follows: weekdays from 5.00 am to 11.00 pm, and weekends from 7.00 am to 10.00 pm.
Recognizing the need for affordable and accessible public transport, he announced that registration for the much-anticipated My50 concession card, which offers unlimited monthly travel, will open next week. To assist with registrations, the bus operator, Biaramas Express Sdn Bhd, will set up a new service office at 9 Market Street, near 7-Eleven and the Open Air Market bus stop.
He added that they remain committed to ensuring a smooth and efficient rollout of additional routes in the coming weeks. The board will continue to update the public on new developments as the Bas.My service expands to benefit more commuters in Kuching.
He urged the public to explore the new transport system and take advantage of the affordable, comfortable, and reliable service it offers.
