KUCHING: Agricultural road projects in Kampung Bumbok and Kampung Tematu are currently being intensified to enhance infrastructure for rural communities and support the growth of the local agricultural sector, said State Assemblyman for Batu Kitang, Dato Ir Lo Khere Chiang.
He said the project is expected to ease the movement of agricultural produce and daily commuting for villagers, while also creating more development opportunities in the area.
“The initiative is funded under the Agriculture Facilitation Fund for the Batu Kitang state constituency, with Kampung Tematu receiving an allocation of RM100,000 and Kampung Bumbok allocated RM50,000.
The Department of Agriculture Kuching and the Department of Irrigation and Drainage are the main implementing agencies. Their close cooperation has ensured that the project progresses smoothly and according to schedule, ” he added.
Lo said the project not only benefits local farmers but also helps accelerate overall rural development. He also thanked the Department of Agriculture Kuching and the Department of Irrigation and Drainage for their commitment.
The project is part of the government’s continued efforts to narrow the development gap between urban and rural areas in Sarawak.
