KUCHING: Bau police have arrested three local men during an operation under ‘Op Tapis’ for suspected drug-related offences.
Bau district police chief Supt Mohd Haide A Rahaman said the arrests were made between 5.50 pm and 6.10 pm on October 8, 2025, in the vicinity of Bau town.
“During the operation, officers from the Narcotics Criminal Investigation Division (BSJND) detained three men who were standing behind a row of shop buildings. Upon inspection, one of them was found in possession of a transparent plastic packet containing a green and blue pill believed to be an Ecstasy pill,” he said.
Supt Mohd Haide said the case is being investigated under Section 12(2) of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952 for drug possession.
He added that preliminary urine tests conducted on all three suspects returned positive results for drugs, and they are also being investigated under Section 15(1)(a) of the same Act.
