Crocodile attack rumour in Lundu proven false

Utusan Sarawak 9 hours ago

KUCHING: Lundu District Police Chief Supt Sudirman Kram has dismissed viral social media claims that a man was seriously injured and lost a leg following a crocodile attack in Sematan, Lundu.

He confirmed that no such incident had taken place, adding that no police report was ever lodged on the matter.

“The police would like to emphasise that the news circulating is untrue. We advise the public not to spread false or inaccurate information that may cause unnecessary alarm,” he said.

The false claim originated from a website purportedly based in Sarawak, which shared photos of a youth said to have lost his leg in a crocodile attack. Video clips of the youth without a leg also circulated online, further fuelling the misleading narrative stating that the incident occurred in Sematan, Lundu.
