KUCHING: The PropNex Home Run 2.0, organised by PropNex Malaysia Sarawak, successfully brought the community together for a meaningful cause, raising RM23,000 for the Salvation Army children’s care centre in Kuching officiated by Sentosa State Assemblyman, Wilfred Yap.
Yap expressed gratitude to the organisers and commended the community’s strong sense of solidarity.
“I truly appreciate PropNex Malaysia Sarawak and The Salvation Army for inviting me to be part of this meaningful event. It’s heartening to see so many people come together for a cause that benefits children in need,” he said.
He also spoke about the importance of collective responsibility in ensuring community wellbeing.
“Under our Premier YAB Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari’s leadership, Sarawak continues to grow economically and in terms of infrastructure. Yet, we’ve never lost sight of the importance of caring for our community,” he said, citing the recent upgrading of the Kota Sentosa Clinic under his RTP allocation to improve facilities for local residents.
He stressed that the government cannot do everything alone, and that public involvement is crucial.
Yap called every Sarawakian can make a difference through financial contributions, volunteering, or simply sharing constructive ideas and said welfare efforts should never be politicised.
Today’s event, led by PropNex Malaysia Sarawak in collaboration with The Salvation Army, shows the power of community spirit. While RM23,000 may not seem like a huge amount, it will go a long way in making a meaningful impact,” he added.
The event wrapped up on a high note, with runners crossing the finish line knowing their participation contributed to a worthwhile cause.
All proceeds, said Yap, will be channelled directly to The Salvation Army’s care programmes, helping improve the lives of children under its care in Kuching.
