
KUCHING: Bau police arrest a 27-year-old man during an anti-drug operation (Ops Tapis) along the roadside of Kampung Sibuluh earlier today.
Bau district police chief, DSP Dr Daram Ruer, said the arrest was made at around 10.00 am after officers conducted checks in the area.
“During the inspection, police found three transparent plastic packets containing crystalline substances believed to be syabu, with a gross weight of 5.64 grams. The total weight of the seized drugs was 6.18 grams, with an estimated street value of RM600” he said.
He added that the suspect was also found in possession of Erimin 5 pills weighing 0.54 grams. A urine test carried out on the man also returned positive for drugs.
The case is being investigated under Section 39A(1), Section 12(2), and Section 15(1)(a) of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952.
Dr Daram said that a remand application will be made to assist further investigation, and the narcotics division will continue to carry out operations in areas suspected of drug-related activities.
