THE two suspects caught for retaliating against their employer.

KUCHING: Two local men, aged 34 and 46 set fire to their employer ‘s excavator at a project site along Jalan Tun Dato Abang Haji Mohd Salahuddin, Petra Jaya, on Wednesday due to unhappiness over their salary.

Kuching Police Chief ACP Mohd Farhan Lee Abdullah said in retaliation, the suspects allegedly set fire to the machine using a petrol-filled glass bottle.

However he assured that the case is not linked to gang-related activities.

Both suspects were tested positive for drugs in an initial urine screening.

The investigation is being carried out under Section 435 of the Penal Code, which carries a maximum sentence of seven years in prison, a fine, or both.

ACP Mohd Farhan urged the public to come forward with any information by contacting the Kuching IPD control center at 082-244444 or reaching out directly to the investigating officer, Inspector Ridzainuddin bin Rosley Abdullah, at 010-9431449.
