KUCHING: A viral social media post involving an alleged obscene gesture by a female driver is under police investigation, said Padawan Police Chief, Supt Mohd Irwan Hafiz Md Radzi.

Irwan Hafiz said Sentosa Police Station in Kuching received a report at 5.50 pm from an 18-year-old local man regarding an incident that occurred on 15 March at approximately 4.46 pm.

The complainant alleged that while driving along Jalan Batu Kawa, a female driver made an obscene middle finger gesture toward him.

“The woman identified in the report has been tracked down, and the case is being investigated under Section 509 of the Penal Code,” he said in a statement.

Irwan urged all road users to drive responsibly and avoid any actions that may cause public disturbance or violate common decency.

The incident, which gained widespread attention on social media, has sparked discussions on road etiquette and responsible driving behavior.
