KUCHING: A 22-year-old female food delivery motorcyclist was killed in a tragic road accident at KM13 Kota Samarahan-Tabuan Jaya at 1:05 pm, today.
Samarahan District Police Chief, DSP Jaimi Husin said the accident involved three vehicles: a car, a motorcycle, and a tanker lorry.
“Preliminary investigations show that the victim, who was riding her motorcycle from Kuching towards Kota Samarahan, collided with the rear of a car that was slowing down at a red traffic light.
“The impact caused her to fall into the left lane, where she was run over by a tanker lorry driven by a local man,” he said.
The motorcyclist was pronounced dead at the scene.
Jaimi added that the case is currently being investigated under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987.
The police chief urged all road users to remain cautious and adhere to traffic rules to prevent such unfortunate incidents.
