SUSPECT caught and drug seized.
KOTA SAMARAHAN: Police from the Kota Samarahan Narcotics Crime Investigation Division arrested a 44 year old male suspect for possession of suspected syabu this afternoon in front of a mini-market in Kota Samarahan.
Samarahan Police Chief, Supt Damaterius Lautin said the suspect was detained at approximately 2.45 pm when a police team led by Insp Jasni Nimos stopped him during a routine check.
The suspect voluntarily handed over a green, black, and white “ERA” cigarette box, which was found to contain a small transparent packet with crystal-like substances believed to be syabu weighing 1.30 grams. The drugs are estimated to be worth around RM260.
A urine test later conducted on the suspect returned negative results for drug use.
During the preliminary investigation, the suspect admitted he had been involved in the sale of syabu since early 2025. He also confessed that the seized drugs were meant for delivery to a customer at the mini-market.
According to him, the supply was obtained “by hand” from an individual known only as APHING around the Batu 7 area and Kampung Tambirat.
Damaterius said investigations are ongoing to track down the supplier known as Aping.
“We are actively pursuing leads to locate the individual supplying the drugs. This arrest is part of our continuous efforts to combat drug distribution activities in the Samarahan district,” said Damaterius.
The suspect, who has no prior criminal record, is currently held in the Kota Samarahan police lock-up. A remand application will be made on 10 April 2025 to assist with further investigations under Section 12(2) of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952.
