KUCHING: Sebanyak 94,229 syarikat dan 3,158 Perkongsian Liabiliti Terhad (PLT) di Sarawak telah berdaftar dengan Suruhanjaya Syarikat Malaysia (SSM) sehingga 31 Oktober lalu.
Ketua Pegawai Eksekutif SSM, Datuk Nor Azimah Abdul Aziz berkata, bagi entiti syarikat, angka ini menunjukkan peningkatan lebih 100 peratus berbanding lima tahun sebelumnya dengan 46,628 syarikat diperbadankan.
Bagi PLT pula, peningkatan yang direkodkan adalah lebih 175 peratus berbanding hanya 1,146 PLT yang didaftarkan lima tahun lalu.
“Syabas kepada komuniti perniagaan dan korporat Sarawak. Sebagai negeri terbesar di Malaysia, saya yakin angka ini akan bertambah dengan lebih pesat lagi pada masa hadapan,” katanya berucap pada majlis perasmian Bangunan Pejabat Baharu SSM Sarawak di Bangunan City Square, Jalan Pending, di sini hari ini.
Majlis ini disempurnakan Menteri Perdagangan Dalam Negeri dan Hal Ehwal Pengguna(KPDNHEP), Dato Sri Alexander Nanta Linggi.
Ketika ini, Akta Pendaftaran Perniagaan 1956 yang dikuatkuasakan SSM tidak terpakai di Sarawak dan Sabah kerana pendaftaran perniagaan di dua negeri ini terletak di bawah ordinan undang-undang di dalam bidang kuasa negeri masing-masing.
Nor Azimah berkata usahawan masih boleh mendaftar perniagaan dengan pihak berkuasa tempatan di Sarawak atau mendaftarkan entiti perniagaan mereka di bawah Akta Syarikat 2016 atau Akta Perkongsian Liabiliti Terhad 2012 yang dikawal selia SSM.
Mengulas mengenai perasmian bangunan pejabat baharu itu, beliau berkata Pejabat Pendaftar Syarikat di Sarawak mula beroperasi pada 1967 di Electra House Kuching dan berpindah ke Bangunan Bank Negara pada 1978.
Seterusnya, pada April 2004, SSM berpindah ke Bangunan Sultan Iskandar, Simpang Tiga sebelum berpindah lagi ke Wisma Sarawak Timber Association (STA).
Pada 7 Ogos 2017, SSM Sarawak telah berpindah masuk ke bangunan yang serba moden ini, yang terletak di City Square, Jalan Pending.
Bangunan berkeluasan 49,000 kaki persegi ini, menjadi kebangaan semua warga SSM yang kini tidak perlu lagi menyewa bagi menawarkan perkhidmatan terbaik kepada komuniti niaga di negeri ini.
Selain bangunan ini, SSM turut memiliki bangunan sendiri di ibu pejabat iaitu bangunan Menara SSM@Sentral serta bangunan sendiri yang menempatkan SSM Perak, SSM Miri dan SSM Melaka.
Dalam pada itu, di negeri dan cawangan lain di seluruh negara, SSM beroperasi di premis yang disewa.
Dengan kekuatan seramai 26 orang pekerja, Pejabat SSM Sarawak ini menawarkan perkhidmatan di tiga daripada sembilan tingkat bangunan ini.
Sehubungan itu, SSM turut menjemput pihak yang berminat untuk menjalankan operasi dengan menyewa beberapa tingkat di bangunan ini.
Bangunan ini dilengkapi prasarana terkini serta ditambah dengan kedudukan pejabat yang terletak di kawasan strategik bagi memudahkan akses orang ramai untuk keluar masuk ke lokasi ini.
