KUCHING: The Sports Toto Supreme 6/58 jackpot prize has hit a record-breaking RM115,088,000, surpassing the previous RM97.75 million jackpot in 2022, according to the company’s CEO, Nerine Tan. The staggering prize has sent lottery enthusiasts into a frenzy nationwide.
In Kuching, eager punters were already lining up outside Sports Toto outlets as early as 3.00 p.m, while other lottery outlets appeared relatively quiet.
At the Padungan outlet, a punter in his 50s, who identified himself as Lim, was spotted meticulously filling out his ticket. Although he requested not to be photographed, Lim shared his excitement about trying his luck with the Supreme 6/58 for the first time.
“I usually buy 4D numbers, but my friends have been telling me to try Supreme or 6D. I used to joke that if I can’t win with four numbers, how can I win with more? But this time, I’ll give it a shot,” Lim laughed. If he wins, he plans to prioritize himself. “Of course, I’ll donate some, but you have to treat yourself first,” he added with a grin.
Another punter, Mdm Yau in her 70s, was visibly focused as she jotted down her numbers, politely waving off distractions. “This is my first time buying a lottery ticket. If I win, I’ll charter a plane and take my family and friends on a trip to Europe,” she said, laughing at the possibility of her newfound dream.
As the jackpot amount continues to rise, so does the excitement, drawing first-time buyers and seasoned punters alike to try their luck.
The nation now waits to see if someone will finally strike it rich and claim the historic prize.
