KUCHING: SUPP Kuching Branch, in collaboration with Timberland Medical Centre, will be organising a community health carnival themed ‘Together for Health’ on Sunday, October 12, 2025.

In a press conference, SUPP Kuching Branch Youth Chairman, Nicholas Wung said the event will run from 9.00 am to 4.00 pm and is open to the public with free admission.

Wung said the health carnival aims to raise awareness on healthy living while providing the public with access to free health checks, consultations, and educational activities.

“More than 35 organisations and agencies will be participating, offering a wide range of screenings, wellness support, interactive activities, and awareness programmes. We want the community to take this opportunity not only to check their health but also to learn more about preventive care and available services,” he said.

Among the highlights are breast and endocrine checks, HPV and dental screenings, bone density tests, blood pressure, glucose and cholesterol checks, hearing and vision tests, and pain management advice. Visitors can also explore wellness support activities such as hair loss consultations, acupuncture, vitality tea tasting, and wellness workshops.

The carnival will also feature awareness booths on organ donation, welfare outreach, EPF, SOCSO, and financial wellness, alongside community support initiatives such as Dawn Hope Shelter’s outreach for young women in need.

A giant inflatable heart model will be on display for the public to step inside and explore, offering a fun and educational experience on heart health. Interactive programmes such as basic life support demonstrations, children’s activities, light exercise sessions, and massage by the blind will also be available.

Medical professionals and survivors will share insights through health talks, covering breast health, mental health, medicine disposal, and cancer journeys. To complement the carnival atmosphere, food trucks serving sushi, dumplings, cakes, coffee, and ice cream will be present.

“This carnival is not just about health screenings but about bringing the community together in a fun and meaningful way. We encourage everyone to join us for a day of health, learning, and fellowship,” Wung added.
