KUCHING: A 21-year-old woman, Miss A, has lodged multiple police reports against her 38-year-old ex-boyfriend from China, who has been for the last two weeks harassing and threatening her and her family, going as far as ordering Grab food and sending Grab drivers to her house over 30 times per day.
In a press conference with SUPP Public complaints bureau chief, Milton Foo this afternoon, the girl stated that the harassment have severely disrupted her life and her family’s peace.
Miss A first met the man online in 2022 and visited him in China in June 2022 for two weeks and again in June 2023, she flew to China and stayed for three months in Zhuhai and Ghangzou.
However, their relationship ended in October 2024. Since then, her ex-boyfriend has allegedly been harassing her using various means, including incessant food deliveries and threats against her family.
The harassment started on February 9, 2025 until yesterday. She was first harassed at work and her boss told her to stop first to deal with her issue.
The focus shifted to her house where in a single day, up to 40 deliveries were made, none of which were ordered by her.
Drivers, unaware of the situation, repeatedly honked outside her house, causing distress to her and her neighbours.
Miss A filed a police report on February 12 regarding the unwanted food deliveries and the disturbance caused and alerted the Grab service.
The food delivery and Grab driver were made using here boyfriend five to six different handphones.
On February 16, she lodged another report after a Grab food delivery allegedly smashed food and threatened her after she explain she didn’t order the food.
Further reports were made on February 18 and 19, accusing the man of directly threatening her and her family.
According to Miss A, her ex-boyfriend claimed he knew some Indonesia and Malays who would do anything for money, vowing to ensure that her family would suffer indefinitely.
Foo said as they knew the man’s home address in Gabsu province and addresses in China, he urged police here to liaise with their counter part in China to intervene and put a stop to the issue.
Miss A’s father attempted to communicate with the man on February 18, to discuss the matter and asked him to come over to Malaysia but the man claimed he is scared to fly.
The family fears that without stronger intervention, the harassment will continue, affecting not only their safety but also public order in the neighbourhood.
Miss A said throughout the relationship, the man has been possessive and a male chauvinist.
He also took all her gold jewellery when she went to China to visit him.
She said now he claimed that she spend RM60,000 of his money but Miss A said the money was spend on both of them.
Foo hoped that with the press conference, authorities and The International Criminal Police Organization – INTERPOL, police will take action as the man is disturbing the Grab service’s business and causing fear to Miss A and her family.
