KUCHING: Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim memberi bayangan kemungkinan untuk menaikkan had siling melebihi RM50 juta nilai projek persekutuan untuk diuruskan sendiri oleh Sarawak dan Sabah.
Perdana Menteri berkata ia bertujuan melancarkan pelaksanaan projek pembangunan di kedua-dua negeri ini.
“Baru-baru ini saya umumkan mana-mana projek persekutuan bernilai bawah RM50 juta akan dilaksanakan sendiri oleh kerajaan negeri dan JKR (Jabatan Kerja Raya).
“Jika ini berjalan dengan baik, tiada masalah untuk meningkatkan had itu (melebihi RM50 juta),” katanya berucap pada Majlis Jamuan Negeri di Pusat Konvensyen Borneo Kuching (BCCK) di sini, malam ini.
Hadir sama Premier Sarawak, Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg, Timbalan Perdana Menteri, Dato Sri Fadillah Yusof, Menteri Kabinet Negeri dan Persekutuan.
Projek yang berada dalam lingkungan kos bawah RM50 juta merangkumi sekolah, klinik, balai bomba dan projek luar bandar lain. Ini bermakna, lebih kurang 70 peratus projek persekutuan kini boleh dikendalikan oleh kerajaan Sarawak sendiri tanpa merujuk kepada Kerajaan Persekutuan.
Anwar yang tiba di sini petang tadi dan dalam rangka lawatan dua hari berkata beliau akan mengumumkan butiran lanjut yang dipersetujui dalam Perjanjian Malaysia 1963 (MA63) hari ini.
Beliau dijangka mempengerusikan mesyuarat Tindakan Pelaksanaan MA63 di Dewan Undangan Negeri (DUN) sebelum menunaikan Solat Jumaat di Masjid Jamek, esok.
Bagaimanapun, Anwar berkata, janji yang termaktub dalam MA63 yang ditandatangani pada 1963 itu mesti dipenuhi.
“Inilah pendirian Kerajaan Persekutuan iaitu perjanjian harus ditepati dan mesti ditunaikan,” katanya yang menerima tepukan gemuruh hadirin.
Beliau memuji kerajaan Sarawak yang begitu tabah dalam memperjuangkan MA63.
Katanya, beliau sedar ada kawasan di Sarawak dan Sabah yang begitu ketinggalan dengan arus pemodenan.
“Hadirnya saya di sini sebagai Perdana Menteri adalah untuk ‘merawat, membelai’ dan menyampaikan hak Sarawak dan Sabah yang terhakis,” katanya.
Dalam pada itu, beliau memberi jaminan kepada Abang Johari untuk bersama menyelesaikan masalah MA63.
“Ada satu dua hal yang kita runding dan selesaikan sedikit lagi,” katanya.
