KUCHING: Padawan Municipal Council (MPP) will also be organising the Buy Back Campaign for Recycled Items, Electrical and Electronic Waste (B.E.E.), Collection of Used Cooking Oil, and Donation of Used Clothing at the parking area near JPJ Batu 11, Jalan Kuching-Serian, on November 8 from 8.00 a.m. to 12.00 p.m.

MPP Chairman Cr. Tan Kai said the campaign is part of the council’s ongoing initiative to create a cleaner, greener, and healthier environment for the residents of Padawan.

He said the programme is held in collaboration with several agencies and organisations, including the Natural Resources and Environment Board (NREB), Department of Environment (DOE), DNS Waste Management Sdn. Bhd., Kim Huang Enterprise, and the Tzu Chi Foundation Kuching.

Tan Kai encouraged local residents to bring recyclable materials for the buy-back programme or donate their used clothing for a meaningful cause.

“Through this campaign, we hope to minimise landfill use and reduce environmental pollution through proper segregation of solid waste,” he said.
