KUCHING: Kuching Police Chief ACP Alexson Naga Chabu confirmed that they have arrested a 32-year-old local man in connection with the death of a three-year-old girl in Kampung Rampangi, Santubong.
He said police received a report on October 8 from a 52-year-old local man stating that his three-year-old daughter had passed away the previous night at around 9.45 pm.
Preliminary investigations suggest the child was subjected to abuse that led to her death.

The suspect has six previous drug-related records, and an initial urine test returned positive for drugs.”
The case is being investigated under Section 302 of the Penal Code for murder, which carries the death penalty or imprisonment of 30 to 40 years, along with a minimum of 12 strokes of the cane.
Alexson reminded the public not to spread unverified information or speculate about the case, as it could disrupt ongoing investigations. He urged anyone with information to contact the nearest police station, the Kuching IPD Control Centre at 082-24444, or Senior Investigating Officer ASP Chris Olsen Ramlee at 013-8607572.
