KUCHING: SUPP Youth leader Nicolas Wung confirmed the party’s commitment to working closely with the police to address security issues and protect residents’ wellbeing.
He said this following a visit by the SUPP Kuching Branch team to the KM Flats, where they engaged directly with residents and collaborated with the Padungan Police Station to gain a clearer understanding of the security challenges faced by the community.
“Community safety must never be overlooked. Every family deserves to feel safe in their own home, and that is why SUPP Kuching Branch continues to place strong emphasis on grassroots concerns,” Wung said.

He added that the party has a proven track record of cooperation with law enforcement, pointing to earlier joint efforts with the Padungan Police Station in the city area which produced positive outcomes.
The visit to the KMC Flats once again demonstrates our commitment to supporting preventive measures and more frequent patrols in order to create a safer environment for residents, he said adding that it is part of SUPP’s long-standing principle of putting the welfare of the community first.
Wung also encouraged residents to work hand in hand with the police and community leaders in safeguarding their neighbourhoods.
“Security is a shared responsibility. We urge residents to come forward and cooperate with us so that together, we can build a safer and more harmonious community,” he said.
