KUCHING: A ‘amok’ man was arrested after he turned Tabuan Desa Lorong 4 into chaos today by damaging properties, confronting workers, and alarming residents over several hours between 7.00 am until this late afternoon.
SUPP Complaint Bureau Chief, Milton Foo said the man, believed to be a resident of the area, emerged from his house and began creating a scene, targeting a renovation site at Lorong Keranji 4C. Armed with a spanner and a hammer, he reportedly approached a construction worker operating a machine and shouted for him to get off. He then smashed the machine’s mirror with a hammer and hurled a wrench at the worker, narrowly missing him.
The worker, in fear for his safety, attempted to defend himself with a piece of wood. The man eventually walked away but not before pulling apart parts of the zinc wall of the house under renovation.
He then turned his attention to a green Perodua Myvi parked nearby, grabbed a bag from the car belonging to the worker and flung it into the middle of the road.

The situation grew even more disturbing as the man began vandalising neighbours’ properties. He reportedly banged on fences, dismantled a solar panel, and even walked around naked at one point leaving residents upset.
Foo said residents contacted him and he called the police urging them to investigate whether the man was under the influence of drugs or suffering from mental health issues.
“People are scared. We hope the police will take firm action before someone gets seriously hurt,” Foo said.
A total of seven police reports have been lodged by residents and the contractor and his workers.
According to the report lodged, the worker stated that the man’s behaviour was aggressive, erratic, and posed a clear threat to public safety.
The suspect was eventually arrested and brought to the Tabuan Jaya police station.
