KUCHING: Kota Sentosa State Assemblyman Wilfred Yap, accompanied by officers from the Kuching South City Council (MBKS), has handed over the Letters of Award to contractors appointed under the “cabut undi” process for two Rural Transformation Programme (RTP) projects in Kota Sentosa.
For the 2024 RTP project, he disclosed that contractor C.J. Serin was appointed to upgrade the road and drainage system at Lorong 1, Skim Penempatan Semula, with an allocation of RM155,000.
The project aims to enhance accessibility, improve safety, and create a better living environment for local residents.
Meanwhile, for the 2025 RTP project, contractor Permata Kukuh Sdn Bhd was awarded the contract to repair and upgrade drainage facilities and pedestrian walkways between SK Satria Jaya, BDC Lorong B2, and BDC Lorong B3A. The RM200,000 project will improve drainage, provide safer walkways, and enhance connectivity for residents and school children in the area.
Yap said the initiatives demonstrate his commitment to ensuring that development projects under the RTP bring tangible improvements to the people of Kota Sentosa.
“As the people’s representative, I will continue to listen to the community’s needs and work with relevant agencies to deliver practical solutions. Every RTP project is about making life better for the people of Kota Sentosa,” he said.
Both projects, Yap added, reflect his ongoing effort to resolve infrastructure concerns while prioritising the safety, comfort, and well-being of residents.
