
KUCHING: Kota Sentosa assemblyman Wilfred Yap has allocated RM15,000 under the Minor Rural Project (MRP) grants to strengthen educational development in the constituency.
Of the total, RM10,000 was presented to the school board of SJK Chung Hua 4 1/2 Mile, while RM5,000 was channelled to Persatuan Guru-Guru Sekolah Rendah Aliran Bahasa Cina Bahagian Kuching/Samarahan. The funds are aimed at supporting programmes and activities that enhance the quality of education.
Yap pointed out that education is the foundation for nurturing future generations, stressing the importance of investing in children’s knowledge, values, and skills. He reaffirmed his commitment to prioritising initiatives that provide greater opportunities for students, teachers, and schools in Kota Sentosa and beyond.
“Education must always be a shared responsibility. As a people’s representative, I will do my part to ensure that our schools and teachers are well supported so that our children can achieve their fullest potential,” he said.
He said the contribution is in line with the GPS Government’s broader vision of uplifting education standards across both urban and semi-urban areas, ensuring inclusivity and equal opportunities for all Anak Sarawak.
