Two motorcyclists killed in separate accidents in Kuching

THE motorcycle lost control and crashed into the red car.

KUCHING: A fatal road accident occurred along Jalan Kampung Mambong-Serian at 7.58pm on September 1, involving a motorcycle and a car.

Padawan District Police Chief, Supt Mohd Irwan Hafiz Md Radzi, said the motorcyclist, a 38-year-old man, was pronounced dead at the scene.

“The case is being investigated under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987 for causing death by reckless or dangerous driving,” he said.

In a separate incident early Monday morning, a 26-year-old motorcyclist was killed after he reportedly lost control of his motorcycle and crashed into a road divider at Batu 7, Jalan Penrissen.

THE rider died on the spot. 

The crash occurred at around 12.48am. The victim was flung to the opposite side of the road and died at the scene.

 “The victim was pronounced dead at the scene. The case is being investigated under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987,” he said.

Both remains were brought to Sarawak General Hospital for post mortem.
