KUCHING: Kuching police are investigating a three-vehicle accident that occurred at the Level 2 parking area of VivaCity Megamall on Saturday at 2.30 pm.
Kuching district police chief, ACP Alexson Naga Chabu said the incident involved a Perodua Alza driven by a 45-year-old man, a Perodua Bezza driven by a 29-year-old woman, and a Proton Persona driven by a 29-year-old man.
“Initial investigations found that the Perodua Alza was heading towards Jalan Wan Alwi when the driver lost control while descending the parking ramp and crashed into the rear of the Perodua Bezza. The impact pushed the Bezza forward, causing it to hit the back of the Proton Persona,” he said.

Alexson said a traffic team carried out a thorough inspection of the vehicles and victims at the scene.
He said two passengers in the Perodua Bezza sustained minor injuries and received initial treatment, while other drivers and passengers were unharmed.
The case is being investigated under Rule 10 of the Road Traffic Rules 1959.
Alexson advised all road users to remain vigilant and maintain full control of their vehicles, especially in multi-level parking areas, to check their vehicle’s condition before driving, and to practise courtesy for the safety of all road users.
