KUCHING: The Sarawak United Peoples’ Party (SUPP) Kuching Branch will celebrate its 66th anniversary with a formal dinner event, replacing the originally planned carnival in favour of a more meaningful and ceremonial gathering.
Co-organising Committee Chairman, Councillor Wung Duk Ying, explained that the shift aims to streamline the programme while fostering deeper engagement among members and supporters.
Secretary of SUPP Kuching Branch, Nicholas Wung, said the event reflects the party’s enduring commitment to unity and progress.
“This anniversary marks not only our party’s long-standing service to the people but also our continued resolve to uphold Sarawak’s multicultural harmony. We want this dinner to be a moment of reflection, celebration, and renewed dedication to the road ahead,” he said.
Founded on 4 June 1959, SUPP established its Kuching Branch shortly after, on 29 June the same year. The 66th anniversary commemorates decades of service and perseverance, and will bring together party leaders, representatives of various associations, and loyal supporters.
The organising committee encourages the public to follow official channels for further updates on the event.
The dinner will be held on Sunday, June 29 at Theatre Hotel Kuching. For those who wish to purchase tickets for the dinner, they can contact 082-244633.
