KUCHING: The Sarawak United People’s Party (SUPP) Kuching Branch candidate team visited Stutong Market over the weekend to engage with traders and the public, underscoring their commitment to listening to grassroots concerns and strengthening ties with the community.
SUPP Kuching Branch, Youth Chief Nicholas Wung said the visit was also to distribute the branch newsletter but also to understand the daily challenges faced by traders and market-goers.
“Our purpose here is to hear directly from the people, especially the traders, about the issues affecting their livelihood. Markets like Stutong are the heartbeat of local communities, and by being here, we can better grasp their needs and work towards practical solutions,” he explained.
During the engagement, traders highlighted matters concerning the market environment and business operations, and called for more promotional efforts to attract customers.

Wung assured that such feedback would be factored into the party’s grassroots initiatives moving forward.
Traders welcomed the outreach, expressing appreciation for the personal engagement and encouragement at seeing more young and energetic party members actively involved in community work.
