KUCHING: Soo Tien Ren, Special Assistant to Stampin MP Chong Chieng Jen voiced strong dissatisfaction with the Padawan Municipal Council (MPP), criticising its prolonged inaction over unresolved public infrastructure complaints in several neighbourhoods.
According to Soo, residents at Lorong 8, Jalan Dogan, 93350 Kuching have been enduring a broken and unstable drainage system for a long time.
The issue was first raised through WhatsApp on October 20 2023, and again officially submitted on June 5 2025. However, Soo claimed that no repairs, updates or responses have been made by the Council.

He also highlighted a separate complaint involving a house at No 220, Lorong Gimorieng 3, where residents started noticing cracks in their flooring as early as Gawai 2024.
While MPP had visited the site multiple times for inspection, Soo said no repair work has been done to date, said Soo.
He stressed that these were not isolated complaints but long-standing problems that had been repeatedly reported yet persistently ignored.
Asking MPP to take immediate action, Soo warned that he would continue speaking out on behalf of affected residents if no steps were taken.
