MIRI: Deputy Minister of Tourism, Creative Industry and Performing Arts, Datuk Sebastian Ting, has allocated RM100,000 to Miri Chinese Kindergarten to upgrade its basic infrastructure under the Rural Transformation Programme (RTP).

Ting was represented by his special assistant, Chia Kah Fung, who is also SUPP Piasau Deputy Youth Chairman, during a site visit to the school alongside Miri Municipal Council engineers to assess the project.

Chia said the allocation will go towards expanding the rain cover of the school building, constructing a sidewalk linking the multi-purpose hall to the playground, and resurfacing the school road. The project is targeted for completion within three months.

He noted that quality facilities contribute to a safer and more conducive learning environment for young children, especially during their early years of education.

The project will be supported by the Piasau District Rural Development and Safety Committee.
