Sarawak Police strengthens cross-border security cooperation with West Kalimantan Police

KUCHING: The 12th Coordination Meeting (RAKOR) between the Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM) Sarawak Contingent and the West Kalimantan Regional Police (POLDA Kalbar) was held on August 4 this year at Graha Khatulistiwa, Pontianak, West Kalimantan.

The meeting aimed to further strengthen strategic cooperation in border security between Malaysia and Indonesia, specifically in the areas of Sarawak and West Kalimantan.

Sarawak Police Commissioner, CP Dato Mancha Ata, who co-chaired the session with West Kalimantan Police Chief, Irjen Pol Pipit Rismanto, said the discussion focused on a range of joint efforts, including combating cross-border crime, intelligence sharing, coordinated operations, and enhancing technical communication between the two forces.

“Our collaboration with POLDA Kalbar has long been rooted in mutual trust and commitment. We deeply appreciate their contributions, especially in the exchange of intelligence and the conduct of joint operations,” said Mancha.

He stressed that the Sarawak Police and POLDA Kalbar will continue to enhance bilateral cooperation through synergy, collaboration, and sustained trust to ensure the safety and stability of border areas.

The meeting concluded successfully, producing several key resolutions to boost the effectiveness of border security enforcement between both nations.

Also present were senior Sarawak police officers including SAC Rizal Abd Rahman Sidek, SAC Mohd Taufik Toh Abdullah, SAC Lim San Aik, SAC Nor Omar Sappi, ACP Mustafa Kamal Gani Abdullah, ACP Maria Rasid, ACP James Jonathan, ACP Rosdi Inai, Supt. Sudirman Kram, Supt. Freddy Bian Stanislaus Bian, Supt. Dennis Bunyam, DSP Pricha Azin, DSP Dr. Daram Ruer, DSP Aleng Lamat, along with administrative and liaison officers from both Sarawak and West Kalimantan.
