
KUCHING: The Padawan Municipal Council (MPP) will hold a Recycling Buy-Back Campaign for recyclables, e-waste, used cooking oil collection, and pre-loved clothing donations on September 13, 2025, at the Everrise carpark, 4 1/2 Mile, Kuching, from 8.00 am to 12.00 pm.
MPP Chairman, Tan Kai said the programme is organised in collaboration with the Natural Resources and Environment Board (NREB), Department of Environment (DOE), DNS Waste Management Sdn. Bhd., Kim Huang Enterprise, and Tzu Chi Foundation Kuching.
“Residents are encouraged to bring in items such as old newspapers, plastic bottles, tin cans, scrap metal, electrical and electronic waste, and used cooking oil. Pre-loved clothing may also be donated to Tzu Chi Foundation Kuching for charitable purposes, ” he said.

Tan Kai said this initiative is a commitment to environmental conservation and public awareness. He stressed that the campaign aims not only to encourage recycling but also to instill a culture of shared responsibility towards protecting the environment.
“By participating, every resident plays an important role in reducing waste and contributing towards a greener and healthier Padawan,” he said.
A price list for recyclables, e-waste, and used cooking oil will be made available during the campaign.
