Padawan Police Chief confirms suspect remanded for mischief

SUSPECT caught red handed.

KUCHING: Padawan Police Chief, Supt Mohd Irwan Hafiz Md Radzi, confirmed the arrest of a 68-year-old local man in connection with the recent stone-throwing incidents along Jalan Batu Kawa.

Irwan said the suspect was apprehended by the Padawan District Police Task Force (Lejang Team) at 7.15 pm on Monday near Jalan Batu Kawa, Kuching. 

He said police seized several stones believed to have been used in the incidents. 

“A total of 10 police reports have been received so far, and the case is being investigated under Section 427 of the Penal Code for mischief causing damage,” he said.

The suspect has been remanded for four days to assist with investigations.

Irwan expressed his appreciation to members of the public who provided information that led to the successful arrest of the suspect.
