

KUCHING: A total of 63 foreign nationals were detained during Ops Jaja, Selera, Sapu, a two-day immigration enforcement operation conducted across Kuching from September 29 to 30.
The operation, led by the Kuching Immigration Enforcement Division, involved 29 officers and covered several areas including Matang, MJC Batu Kawa, and Bau.
According to the Immigration Department of Malaysia, the detainees were arrested for various offences under the Immigration Act 1959/63, including violations under Section 6(1)(c), Section 15(1)(c), and Section 56(1)(l).
This successful operation reflects the ongoing efforts of the Immigration Department of Malaysia to combat illegal immigrants and enforce immigration laws. The department stressed that such measures are vital in safeguarding national sovereignty and public safety.
The Immigration Department also urged the public to continue providing information related to illegal immigrants to the authorities, noting that community cooperation is crucial to ensuring Malaysia remains free from immigration law violations.
