Launching the Kuching Journey Planner

LPKP chairman, Michael Kong shows how to download Kuching Journey Planner.

KUCHING: Commercial Vehicle Licensing Board (LPKP) Sarawak has announced the launch of the “Kuching Journey Planner” mobile application, now available in beta mode on the Android Play Store.

LPKP Chairman, Michael Kong said the app was developed in response to public feedback following the launch of the first Bas.My Kuching route along the Saujana–Serian corridor.

“We’ve been encouraged by the strong support from the public and their constructive feedback. One of the most common requests has been for real-time tracking of our buses,” he said.

Kong said the newly launched app aims to improve the commuting experience by allowing users to track the live location of buses operating under the Bas.My Kuching service. In addition to live tracking, the app also allows passengers to plan their journeys and access up-to-date information on routes and schedules.

As the app is still in its beta phase, he welcomed user feedback to help improve its performance and usability.

“This is just the beginning. We recognise there may still be bugs or areas that need refinement, and we encourage all users to share their suggestions,” he said, adding that an iOS version is also being developed and will be released once it is ready.

Kong noted that the app’s development achieved within just three months of the inaugural route launch demonstrates LPKP’s commitment to improving public transport in Sarawak.

“This marks another step forward in modernising public transport in the state. We remain committed to making public transportation more convenient, reliable, and accessible for all,” he said.
