Kuching Police Chief confirms arrest two detainees escape from Kuching Court

KPD Kuching, ACP Mohd Farhan Lee Abdullah confirmed two suspects caught for escaping from the court house early this month.

KUCHING: Kuching Police Chief ACP Mohd Farhan Lee Abdullah confirmed the arrest of two detainees who had escaped from the Kuching Court on March 7 2025.

The arrests took place on March 23, with one detainee apprehended in Kota Samarahan at 12.30 am and the second suspect arrested at a residence in) Kampung Kota Samarahan at 3.30 p.m on the same day.

Both were tested positive for drugs.

He said the case is being investigated under Section 223/224 of the Penal Code, which carries a penalty of up to two years’ imprisonment, a fine, or both.

Both suspects have been remanded for three days until March 27 2025.

Farhan thanked his the public for their cooperation in providing information related to the case.
