KUCHING: Sentosa State Assemblyman Wilfred Yap commended Saberkas Kota Sentosa for successfully organising the Karnival Sukan Saberkas (KASUS) 2025, which attracted more than 260 youths and community members through futsal, pickleball and nerf gun competitions.
Speaking at the closing and award ceremony yesterday at Mile 7 sports centre, Yap said the carnival had strengthened solidarity and community spirit in Kota Sentosa.
“We are here to celebrate the champions and also to recognise the values of friendship, discipline and teamwork demonstrated by all participants. The aim of Saberkas Kota Sentosa is to bring people together through sports,” he said.
Yap added that the event reflected the objectives of the Post COVID 19 Development Strategy 2030, which emphasises both well-being and human capital development alongside economic growth.
“Through sports, we nurture a young generation that is healthy, disciplined, competitive and united,” he said.
He congratulated the winners and applauded all participants for their enthusiasm, noting that the spirit of togetherness and commitment shown during the event will help build a stronger and more progressive Kota Sentosa.
The carnival concluded with prize presentations to winners in the futsal, pickleball and nerf gun tournaments, witnessed by members of the organising committee and supporting organisations.
