Kangaroo come home

Utusan Sarawak 4 months ago

KUCHING: The beloved kangaroo statue has returned to its home at Roxy Hotel this morning.

Two workers reinstalled the kangaroo at 9.10 am, completing the task in about an hour, much to the amusement of passing motorists.

A playful passenger in a Viva rolled down her window and shouted, “Welcome back, my friend!” before laughing and driving away.

The kangaroo statue had been damaged in a car accident last Sunday night involving a young woman. Residents in the area expressed relief that the driver was unharmed in the incident.

When asked about the weight of the statue, the workers estimated it to be over 50 kg and made of bronze. One of them joked that the kangaroo “lost a few kilos while in the hospital!”
