KUCHING: Kota Sentosa State Assemblyman Wilfred Yap has handed over the Letter of Award for a Rural Transformation Programme (RTP) 2025 project at SK Satria Jaya, aimed at upgrading and repairing the school’s facilities.
The RM100,000 project, awarded to Syahfuan Enterprise, will cover several works including the upgrading of the badminton court, construction of a gazebo, installation of walkway roofing, classroom repairs, toilet and roof maintenance, as well as the installation of fans and an air-conditioner.
Speaking at the ceremony, Yap said the project reflects his commitment to ensure students and teachers have access to safe and conducive learning spaces.
“Education is the key to securing the future of our children. That is why I am ever ready to listen and to do my best to enhance educational facilities in Kota Sentosa. When our students have a safe and supportive environment to learn, they will have greater opportunities to excel,” he said.
He added that his responsibility as an elected representative goes beyond delivering infrastructure projects, but also in addressing the needs of schools, parents and students.
He said the initiative is in line with the vision of Sarawak Premier Abang Johari Tun Openg, who has emphasised education, infrastructure and human capital development as priorities under the Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS) government.
Yap also assured the school and parents that he will continue to work with the relevant agencies to channel more projects and resources into Kota Sentosa to give every child the best start in life.
