KOTA SAMARAHAN: A woman was killed while her male companion suffered serious injuries in a three-vehicle accident at KM10 Jalan Kota Samarahan–Tabuan Jaya, today.
Samarahan police chief Supt Damataries Lautin said the incident, which occurred around 9.45 am, involved a Proton Saga, a Nissan lorry, and a KTM motorcycle.

MOTORCYCLE burned during the accident.
“Initial investigation found that the Proton Saga, driven by a 55-year-old woman, was waiting at a traffic light when it was suddenly hit from behind by a KTM motorcycle ridden by a 32-year-old man,” he said.
“The impact caused the motorcycle’s pillion rider, identified as 40-year-old from Kampung Kuhom Mawang, Serian, to be thrown onto the left lane and run over by a passing lorry,” she added.
She was pronounced dead at the scene, while the motorcyclist, Rayven Rowman from Kampung Rembus, sustained serious injuries. Both the car and lorry drivers were unharmed.
Damataries said the victim’s body was taken to Sarawak General Hospital’s Forensic Unit for further action.
“The case is being investigated under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987 for causing death by reckless or dangerous driving,” he said.
