
KUCHING: Member of Parliament for Bandar Kuching, Dr. Kelvin Yii allocated a total of RM43,000 to help fund the Girls’ Brigade Malaysia Kuching Group Council organisation’s youth development.
Dr Yii who attended the training praised the Young Leaders’ Spiritual Leadership Training (YLGBSL) Camp, describing them as uplifting which instilled discipline, faith, and a spirit of service among young women.
These camps, he said nurture values that are so needed in the society and helps that shape strong, compassionate leaders and was inspired by the strength, passion, and potential displayed by the participants.
With confidence and with a purpose, Dr Yii believed that the youngsters will serve well in future as leaders.
During his visit, Dr Yii encouraged the girls to believe in their own worth and to use their talents in service of others and their communities as he told them that leadership is not about having a title but having the courage to make an impact in the lives of others.
As MP for Bandar Kuching, he said he will remain committed to supporting initiatives like this that build a stronger, more inclusive future especially one that is led by empowered and values-driven youth,” he said.
