KUCHING: A man aged 66 was found dead in a decomposed state at his home in Taman Seng Goon, after neighbours realised they had not seen him for over ten days.

Acting Kuching District Police Chief, Superintendent Merbin Lisa, said police were alerted at about 3.45pm by a concerned resident who reported a foul smell and noted that the man, who lived alone, had not been seen recently.

“Based on the report, a team from Sungai Maong Police Station was dispatched to the house. When officers entered the premises, they discovered the body in the living room, already in an advanced state of decomposition,” he said.

Supt Merbin added that the deceased was a local and is believed to have died more than a week ago. No criminal elements were found at the scene.

The case has been classified as sudden death report pending the post-mortem report.
