KUCHING: Mothers and children from Kampung Haji Baki came together on Sunday afternoon for a community cooking and bonding session.
Squad Anti Dadah Kuching chairman, Lee Chia Soon, said the programme was part of a day-long training titled ‘One Goal: Eat Right to Play Right,’ aimed at educating children on healthy lifestyles through sports and proper nutrition.
“The idea is to create activities that involve both parents and children, while also guiding the younger generation away from the dangers of drug abuse,” he explained.

Lee added that the programme also encouraged housewives to cook together with their children, teaching them how to prepare nutritious meals at home.
Another Squad Anti Dadah member, Nah Wai Murn, demonstrated how to prepare Chicken Enoki Rolls with Broccoli, Carrots and Rice, paired with Muscat grapes for dessert. She said the dish was chosen because it is simple and fun for children to take part in.

A theory session was also conducted, where mothers were taught how to read product labels and identify artificial sugar content.
So far, three community training sessions have been held this year at the Kampung Haji Baki community hall, the first held in June, the second yesterday, and the final one scheduled for the end of September.
