KUCHING: DAP special assistant to MP Stampin, Chong Chieng Jen, Michael Kong highlighted a case who faced difficulties in renewing her damaged identity card due to mobility issues.

“Upon learning of her situation, we immediately contacted the National Registration Department (JPN) arranged their officers to visit her at home.

“The officers successfully completed all the required procedures, including thumbprint verification, personal details confirmation, and capturing her photograph, right at her residence,” Kong said.

He explained that this was made possible through JPN’s ‘My Mekar Ihsan’ initiative, which caters to senior citizens, persons with disabilities, and individuals unable to attend JPN counters in person. “This compassionate approach ensures that no Malaysian is left behind in accessing essential documentation services,” he added.

Kong stressed that DAP has always believed in serving the people beyond politics by going to the ground, understanding their struggles, and working with relevant agencies to provide practical solutions. He expressed gratitude to JPN for their swift cooperation and hoped more people in similar situations would benefit from the initiative.
