KUCHING: Bau district police chief, Superintendent Mohd Haide A Rahman is seeking witnesses to come forward on a fatal accident case.
Haide urged anyone with information about the accident to assist the police investigation or contact the nearest police station.
A local man has died following a three-vehicle collision along Jalan Bau–Kuching that occurred at about 11.50am on September 16 at KM4.5, near SJK Chung Hua Paku.
“Preliminary investigations revealed that the driver of a car travelling from Bau had attempted to make a sudden right turn into a junction without signaling. A lorry coming from the opposite direction was unable to stop in time and collided with the car, hitting its front and left side. Both vehicles then skidded and crashed into a Toyota Hilux that was waiting to exit the junction,” he explained.
The car driver, a local man, was rushed to Sarawak General Hospital and received treatment for about 12 days before succumbing to his injuries on September 28, 2025.
Haide reminded all road users to drive carefully, ensure their vehicles are roadworthy, and practice tolerance on the road for the safety of everyone.
