The meeting in progress.

KUCHING: The first Neighbourhood Watch Chapter for N13 Batu Kitang was launched today by Dato Ir Lo Khere Chiang at his service centre marking a significant milestone in strengthening community safety and promoting collaborative neighbourhood policing.

Speaking at the press conference, Lo said the initiative was coordinated with the Padawan Deputy District Police Chief, representatives from the Malaysia Crime Prevention Foundation (MCPF), the Community Policing Division (JPJKK), and the Officer-in-Charge of Kota Sentosa.

He said the Neighbourhood Watch will be implemented in three phases, beginning at Mile 3, followed by Mile 6 and Mile 10.

One for the album.

Lo added that representatives from the various agencies with himself will serve as administrators in a shared communication group, and he encouraged Arang residents to join in not only to report crimes but also to build closer ties with their neighbours.

He expressed his appreciation to MCPF and the organising committee for their proactive efforts in promoting neighbourhood safety.

Meanwhile, Padawan Deputy Police Chief Dr Daram Ruer reaffirmed the Royal Malaysia Police’s (PDRM) full support for the establishment and sustainability of Neighbourhood Watch programmes under IPD Padawan’s jurisdiction.

He said the newly appointed Officer-in-Charge of Kota Sentosa, ASP Rudy, has been tasked to initiate community engagement activities with residents in collaboration with MCPF to ensure the programme’s effective implementation.

The meeting concluded with a shared commitment among all parties to foster safer and more united neighbourhoods through continued cooperation between community leaders, law enforcement, and the public.

Also there were Leonard Sabu from Malaysia Crime Prevention Foundation (MCPF), KS/DSP Tuan Rajan Thangaveloo – MCPF & Unimas, JPJKK (Community Policing) and Penghulu Thian Sing Hwa.
