
KUCHING: A total of 264 individuals and 200 vehicles were inspected, while 124 traffic summonses were issued for various offences. Six motorcycles were seized under Section 60(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987 by the Traffic Enforcement and Investigation Division and brought to IPD Kuching during an Integrated Crime Prevention Operation from last weekend between 10.00 pm and 5.00 am.
According to Kuching District Police Chief ACP Alexson Naga Chabu, the operation was conducted in the jurisdictions of Gita, Tabuan Jaya, and Sekama Police Stations as a proactive measure to curb criminal activities and enhance public safety.

“The operation included roadblocks, inspections at entertainment outlets by the District Criminal Investigation Division, crime prevention patrols, suppression of illegal street activities, and monitoring of crime-prone areas,” he said.
The operation involved three senior police officers and 38 personnel from various units and stations under IPD Kuching.
Alexson added that the Criminal Investigation Division also made one arrest and confiscated nine entertainment devices under Section 5(1) of the Entertainment Ordinance 2000 from an unlicensed entertainment outlet along Jalan Song.
He stressed that the police will continue to conduct monitoring and enforcement operations regularly to ensure public safety and community well-being through consistent preventive measures.
